CELEBRATE Was a Success!

We're still on cloud nine after hosting CELEBRATE on April 29. Thank you to everyone who sponsored, made a gift and joined us for this event. We're thrilled to share that it was a record-setting fundraising year for this event! We had a great time hearing from our seniors and celebrating their accomplishments, sharing the Minds Matter spirit, and dancing the night away with all of you. Congrats to the Class of 2023

We are celebrating our seniors because they're graduating from High School AND from Minds Matter Colorado! We're so proud of each of them and all of their growth and achievements they've earned over the last three years. Each graduating senior is preparing to embark on their next academic journey, as they matriculate to some truly amazing colleges and universities. Not only that, we're so proud that each one of them has been able to secure significant financial aid to get to the school of their choice. Some of the big awards include: the Gates Scholarship, the Greenhouse Scholarship, the Sean "Ranch" Lough Scholarship, and Sachs Foundation. Some of our graduating seniors also received full rides directly from their institutions, including Stanford, Yale, North Carolina Central University, Cadet Program at CU Boulder, and CSU.

To hear where each of our students are planning on attending next year for college, enjoy this video of them sharing their news!

MMCO Featured on 9NEWS Next with Kyle Clark - Word of Thanks

A few weeks ago, Minds Matter partnered with 9NEWS's Kyle Clark to be a featured non-profit as part of his Word of Thanks initiative. Each week Kyle highlights a small non-profit doing crucial work in Colorado.

Thanks to the many Coloradans who tuned in, we raised more than $23,000 of our $40,000 goal in just over a week!

We'd love to hit that goal before June 30th, so if you didn't have a chance to support the campaign, it's not too late! Thank you for being a part of this incredible community.

Mentors Needed!

At Minds Matter Colorado, we’re on a mission to prove that ability, not access, should determine college choice for qualified students. So we connect bright students from low-income households with the relationships and resources they need to expand their post-secondary educational horizons. Our unique approach combines:

-Three years of mentorship with committed volunteers
-Weekly college-prep instruction
-Access to summer programs at colleges across the country

Being a Minds Matter mentor is different from volunteering with other youth support organizations. It’s scheduled, designed, and facilitated so it’s almost plug-and-play.

Our mentors are paired with another adult mentor and matched with two students. Mentors commit to supporting their students throughout their full three years in the program. This creates consistency for the students and fosters stronger bonds as mentors support, challenge, and celebrate their mentees along the journey to college admission success.

Our program is expertly focused and structured. Every week, you, your co-mentor and your students will work through the Minds Matter curriculum, which guides students through exercises to develop the hard and soft skills they need to succeed in college.

Join us for an info session or reach out to MMCO's Program & Recruitment Associate, Gavrielle Reyes for more information.
