A Statement from Minds Matter

Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that universities may no longer use race in their consideration of candidates for admission.

The ruling will change the college admissions landscape for our students and students like ours. Race-conscious admission policies were designed to level the playing field for systematically excluded students, promote diversity, and foster a more representative educational system. We cannot yet imagine all that will result from these new restrictions, but this ruling reinforces the need for continued effort to ensure that all students have equitable opportunities to access and earn a college degree.
